Hello, and welcome back! I hope your spring weather is lovely and warm (but not too warm!), and that you're finding plenty of reading time between your spring chores. The weeding is keeping me busy here, but I'm still working in plenty of reading time, I think. If someone could come up with a way to permanently get rid of weeds, I'd really be thrilled: think of all the extra reading time!
It's been ages since we had a book club discussion over in the forum, but the regulars have decided it's time to start again, so we'll see how it goes.
Darker than Midnight by Maggie Shayne is the book to get us started again, with Cassandra 'Jax' Johnson putting her job and her life on the line to figure out who killed Michael 'River' Corbett's wife years ago, framing him and keeping him locked away in a mental hospital. Only now Michael is out and he really needs Jax's help, despite the danger his presence puts her in. The same person who framed him is still desperate, and if they have to kill another person or two to keep their secret, well, they will, and they don't really care who they hurt to protect themselves.
Today (5/5/06), our plans are these: we read now, and then the week of May 22, 2006, we'll start discussions in the forum. You do have to register to participate in forum discussions, but registration is free (and painless, I promise!), so I hope you'll join us in discussing this book now that we're back to regular book club talks.
Until next time, happy reading!
