Fairy Themed Clipart

Guest Author - Tammy Murks

'Fairy themed clipart suitable for a baby's nursery…' was the request I had in the forum awhile back. I thought, "Now, I'm sure she is not the only one who would be interested in this type of clipart. Fairies are a mythical spirit of the supernatural that are believed to be able to fly, cast spells, and foresee the future. Delicate little creatures with dainty butterfly-like wings, which are believed by some to protect and entertain children. There are many mythical beliefs about fairy's going all the way to the 1800's. Writers such as William Shakespeare and C.S. Lewis have written stories about the tiny creatures. Ultimately, I believe that because they are mythical, the beliefs come down to your own preference and liking. If you enjoy fairies, then it is for you to seek out the art you like and desire. There is nothing like having a few good resources along the way! Fairies have been depicted in numerous books, paintings and art dating back to Victorian artists. Some of the artists names include: Richard Dadd, John Atkinson Grimshaw, Joseph Noel Paton, John Anster Fitzgerald, Daniel Maclise, Alan Lee, Arthur Rackham, Brian Froud, Cicely Mary Barker, Ida Rentoul Outhwaite, Myrea Pettit, Margaret Tarrant and Richard de Chazal. Now, there are some names for your searches. I put together some nice resources for your latest baby fairy theme projects. Please be sure the read the Terms of Use because all of these are not free, or are only free if used in certain ways. I hope you enjoy them.
