Boston Market Style Meatloaf - Copycat Recipe

Here´s a copycat recipe of that delicious meatloaf from a very popular restaurant chain.

  • 1 - 8 oz. can (1 cup) tomato sauce
  • 1-1/2 T. bottled barbecue sauce
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1- 1/2 pounds ground round, or ground sirloin

Preparation -
Whisk the tomato sauce, barbecue sauce and sugar together. Reserve 1/4 cup of this sauce mixture. Add the flour, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the remaining sauce mixture. In a large bowl, add this to the ground meat. Using your hands or a large wooden spoon, mix the sauce mixture into the ground meat. After it is well mixed, shape into a loaf. Spray a loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray. Place the meatloaf in the prepared loaf pan. Cover the pan with aluminum foil. Bake in a preheated oven at 400º for 30 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and remove the foil from the pan. Drain any fat from the bottom of the pan. While the meatloaf is still in the pan, slice it into about 8 equal slices. Drizzle the reserved 1/4 cup of the sauce mixture over the top of the sliced meatloaf. Place it back the oven and bake, uncovered, for 30 more minutes. Remove from the oven, cover loosely with foil and let stand for about 5 to 7 minutes before serving. Makes 4 generous servings.
