Global Orgasm! Do I have your attention? Nothing like the "O" word to perk up someone's attention. Imagine if our orgasms could have an effect on the energy of the earth. Imagine millions of people having orgasms with the same intent (besides the obvious). What effect could harnessing the energy of the human orgasm have on the planet, besides putting a lot of smiles on a lot of faces? World peace?
Two peace activists, Donna Sheehan and Paul Reffell, want to find out but they need your help. They are working hard on spreading the news about Global O which will take place on December 22nd, the first day of winter solstice and also a Friday, a date night. During this 24 hour period they want you to combine your sexual energy with that of everyone on the planet by having an orgasm. Whether you're single or married, young or old, fat or skinny, they want you to get the juices flowing all while thinking peaceful thoughts.
It was too hard to organize a specific time with all the time zones so they decided anytime during the 24 hours of the 22nd counts as participation. This will be a planned annual event so be sure to mark your calendars for next year. For privacy's sake you can use "Global O".
Although not affiliated with the Global Orgasm initiative, The Global Consciousness Project (EGG Project) through Princeton University is made up of a collection of scientists, engineers, artists and other volunteers who have been collecting data from a global network of random event generators during global events (like 9/11 and tsunami) since August 1998. Basically they are researching the effect of consciousness on the world. You can check out their official website for more detailed information on the science and poetics of what they do. Anyway, it's Global Orgasm's hope that this united orgasm will cause a notable and recordable effect and make EGG Projects radar. But most importantly encourage some semblance of peace.
It seems like a strange concept but hey, it's worth trying. There's nothing wrong with working toward a little peace. Even if it's only for a few minutes. And if it doesn't cause a global effect at least you know you tried.
