Alia Adds Plus Sizes

I was so excited today when I received a small fold out flyer in the mail from the Canadian clothing retailer, Alia. Now, I'm not an Alia shopper. I don't think I've ever stepped foot in one but they were announcing their winter collection and more notably, "We have your fit!" This regular store is now advertising a complete selection of clothing options including sizes 16-24.

I thought "what great news this is". On further reading I found out these "womens" sizes are only "available at select stores". Very annoying. Then I saw "and online". Yes! The convenience of shopping online. As you all know by now I love to shop online. I would say 60% of my gift shopping is done online these days. It's convenient (day or night) and nobody looks over my shoulder wondering if I'm going to stuff it into my bag.

So I ventured to their online site and found their "womens" selections right away. I love it when you can find what you are looking for right away. Generally I'd say they cover the 40-year + age market with lots of tops with applique and stretch pants in earth tones. Alia belongs to the Nygard, TanJay conglomerate. Totally not my style. I do work at home after all.

For the heck of it I started clicking on available sizes for various designs. Lots of choices for the 18/20 crowd. Unless it's a t-shirt or elastic waist pant then it is available in a 2x/3x. This annoys the hell out me when companies say they offer a range of sizing but when you look they really are not offering much of a selection in those sizes.

Anyway, I thought some of you might find something you like but be prepared for the possibility you might not find it in your size. Here's the link to Alia. Click on "womens" to get to their thirteen pages of options. If you're a size 14 be sure to check out their "Fashion Outlet" link at the bottom for some funky fashion deals.
