Sean "Diddy" Combs and girlfriend Kim Porter welcomed twin daughters into the family Thursday morning.

The hip hop mogul was in Toronto filming the screen adaptation of Raisin in the Sun, a role he had also played on Broadway, when he got word Porter was in labor. He jetted to her side and was at the hospital just in time for the delivery.

Robert Zimmerman, Diddy's pr representative, released the following statement regarding the births:

"Diddy received an early Christmas gift! It gives us great joy to announce the arrival of Diddy's twin girls. The beautiful, healthy baby girls were born this morning with Diddy by mother Kim Porter's side.

The first arrived at 7:56 a.m. weighing 5 lbs., followed 2 minutes later by the second at 5 lbs., 4 oz. Diddy had a plane on standby in Toronto where he is filming Raisin in the Sun and made it just in the nick of time for the delivery. Both Kim and the girls are doing great."

Porter, 36, and Diddy, 37, have reportedly named their daughters after their own grandmothers, who have influenced the couple greatly. According to Zimmerman, the first to arrive, D'Lila Star Combs, is said to be named after Porter's grandmother, Lila Star. Her younger sister, Jessie James Combs, is said to be named after Diddy's grandmother, Jessie Smalls.

At 10:17 a.m., Diddy shared the news with his fans via his MySpace page:

"The Twins Have Arrived!

Myspace Fam,

Wanted to tell you first, I'm at the hospital right now and christmas came early this morning when Kim gave birth to two healthy beautiful twin girls!!! Both, Kim and the twins are doing great, thank you for all your support this year! I Love Y'all!"

The couple are already parents to son Christian, 8. Diddy also has a son, Justin, 12, with ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton-Brim.
