This new feature presents an electronic version of my new Terra Tarot Deck, one card at a time. The twenty-fifth card available for download is The Seven of Cups.

The symbology used in my rendition of the Seven of Cups shows a woman sitting on a rock by the sea, feeling whimsical and dreaming of a beautiful castle, sitting with seven glistening beautiful chalices, engraved with bunches of plump ripe grapes, symbolizing fertility and abundance. The seven chalices are full of pure blue water. Cups represent emotions, psychic and intuitive arts, fantasy and illusion, fertility, emotions, spirituality, sacred sexuality, grace and serenity. They are the dreamy aspect of the Minor Arcana, usually a delightful addition to any spread. The Seven of Cups reminds us of our whimsical inner child, prone to daydreaming, imagination and building "castles in the sky".
It represents a resistance to focus and commitment and indulging ourselves in fantasies, dreams, and sometimes illusions. This card reminds us to be careful to not fool ourselves about the facts of life, but also to listen to our inner dreams and desires - they do have a message for us. It also signifies being given several choices to choose from, so to choice wisely from both the head and heart. The 7 of cups reminds us to not lose touch with this dreamy aspect of ourselves, but to believe in the possibilities of life, and take time to consider the outcomes and potential of any decision we need to make. But it also warns us to not sink too deep into fantasy - keep your feet firmly on the ground, avoid excessive substance use, and resist procrastination, idleness, and addiction. Most of all, take care of yourself!
Since the theme of this deck is Terra, our Mother Earth, I elected to begin this illustration using a beautiful water and mountain landscape that showcases a young but soft looking mountain that nestles along the bank of calm deep waters. The entire landscape is quite blue in hue since the Cups are associated with the color blue.
Above the woman and chalices rests a decorative Merkaba which represents the metaphysical spirit "vehicle" that becomes activated as we balance our chakras, meridians, and lifeforce. To the left of the Merkaba, flies a white dove, symbolizing peace and love. To either side of the Merkaba hang the elemental Water symbol to the left, and the female gender symbol to the right, since the Cups suit are considered to be feminine in nature.
