Review of "Words of Wisdom for Women" “Words of Wisdom for Women,” written by Rachel Snyder, is not your average book. I have found myself reading this book on a monthly basis. It contains hundreds of words, each followed by words from the author. In her book, she offers insights into everyday words. There are days when I feel like crying and read what she has to say about that topic. There are days when I feel like celebrating and read what she offers on the word. Each page of her book is filled with valuable treasures to glean from. For instance, she writes of listening. She writes of how listening doesn’t only happen with the ears. Listening, according to Rachel Snyder, means to listen with the heart as well. She talks of listening to beautiful things in our natural surroundings. Perhaps when we go to the beach, we find ourselves admiring the sunset or the powerful waves of the ocean. These are areas that we can listen with our heart. Another example is the way she describes expression. She encourages her readers to express themselves, regardless of how they feel. She writes of how a person can express themselves, whether it be through their voice or their art. Either way, each avenue is a means of expression. Rachel Snyder takes basic words and helps her readers to identify themselves in her short synopsis of each word. She offers a refreshing look at everyday words and guides her readers on a journey to healing within. It is more than just reading words. It is about reading the word that best describes how we feel for the day and then gathering the treasures within that word and the insights that Rachel Snyder offers. “Words of Wisdom for Women” is a book filled with treasures for everyday living. It is a book that I recommend to others because I believe that the author reaches out to her readers in a way to encourage them and uplift them in their everyday lives. She encourages her readers to focus on themselves and to allow themselves their right to feel emotions. She guides her readers through the process of thinking of themselves and doing what is best for themselves. She challenges her readers to gather the treasures for themselves. This book offers so much to the reader. | Related Articles | Previous Features | Site MapContent copyright © 2008 by Kelli Deister. All rights reserved.
