Study Links Non Stick Chemicals To Low Birth Weight
Guest Author - Sunniej Jackson

Babies exposed to chemicals used in non stick cookware and other consumer products while in their mother's womb studies indicate were born at a significantly lower body weight according to a new study published by the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences.

There are so many new inventions that have made our lives easier that have not been fully tested to determine long term effects.

Women have to be very careful of everything that is used around them while they are pregnant. We all have to pay more attention to all the new products and services being offered to insure that they don’t affect our children and our household environments. However, there is always new information coming out on products that we use everyday.

If you are considering getting pregant, I would suggest you begin researching products that are harmful to your unborn child. We know that alcohol and drugs adversly affect your unborn child but there are lots of other things. Ask your physician for a list of possible harmful products and things to avoid. Some things on the list will be things to do or avoid prior to getting pregnant.

Having a baby begins with the thought of starting a family and you should begin to analyze what changes you need to make in your lifestyle to aid in having a healthy baby. You might have to “sacrifice” and give up something you enjoy for the sake of your unborn child. Things like cigarettes, fast food, late nights, alcohol, drugs and other things that you didn’t think of that will increase the chances of birth defects.

Having a baby should not be a selfish act. You must consider the child first and the environment in which you are bringing a child into. If you are not in a healthy relationship, a baby will not fix it nor is it right for the child. A child needs a safe and healthy environment both mentally and physiccally in order to flourish into a responsible adult.

You must be firstly a responsible parent by thinking first and foremost of your unborn child and make the necessary changes in your life.
