The famous fairytale about a young girl's journey to her grandmother's house and her unfortunate encounter with a very bad wolf was popularized by the Brothers Grimm who's chose childhood tales have marked many of our dreams.

All characters of this story make excellent costume choices but Little Red is of course the most popular. There are a number of costumes providers out there that provide plus size red riding hood costumes that can be cute or sexy depending on who's wearing the costume and which style you decide on. You can also find costumes for the wolf, granny and huntsman if you want to do a group costume.

It comes with a hooded burgundy cape, a long-sleeved dress (black skirt and white blouse), bodice and apron. The Classic Red Riding Hood (21543) looks more figure-flattering (my personal favorite) and it almost looks like she's going to a picnic. The red and white dress with black corset comes with a little capelet in sizes XL - 3L and is one of their better rated costumes styles (it's pictured on this page). The ruffles, crinoline or petticoat you see peeking out from under the dress is separate. The third option is darker in color, Red Riding Hood Plus (11219) comes in XL - 3X and includes a white blouse, brown faux leather vest, red Skirt and hooded capelet. The final option, Lacey Red Riding Hood (31608), comes in sizes 16 - 22 and includes a red plaid corset style dress, attached apron/crinoline and a capelet. All options require your own footwear, tights and basket.

Fright Catalog has costumes of course but they have an awesome cape which I think is a better idea. You can be red riding hood one year, Gothic princess the next, vampire, devil bride etc. You probably have your own underthings you could substitute.
