Plus Size Dresses - Igigi

Self taught designer Yuliya Zeltzer started Igigi in the early nineties in San Francisco, California and it has grown quickly via positive word of mouth. According to their website, "Igigi specializes in sexy and sophisticated plus size clothing, with an emphasis on formal wear and evening dresses." You won't find frumpy clothing here.

Selection: Formal floor length gowns including a bridal selection, as well as cocktail and career dresses make up the majority of their options. There is a small (but impressive) selection of career/dress tops, pants, skirts, and belts.

Sizing: Most items are available in sizes 12 - 32. Many garments are combination sized i.e. 14/16, 18/20 etc.

Styling: Igigi has a distinct style that flatters the figure. There are lots of empire waists, bare shoulders, tailored necklines, crossover wraps and flowing fabrics. Their styles are suitable for any special occasion including prom, bride, wedding guest, cocktail parties, club and business.

Pricing: From $56 for a skirt to $280 for a evening dress and everything in between.

Availability: Igigi will ship within the US, Canada, Europe, Asia/Pacific via USPS. Shipping costs starting at $5.95 for the US and $24.00 for Canada.

Overall Impression: Igigi has some of the most beautiful dresses I've seen for plus size women or otherwise. They are figure flattering designs in rich colors (thank you for the lack of pattern!). Their size range is impressive going all the way up to 32 when many stop at 24 or heaven forbid 20. The website is easy to manoeuvre as is the shopping cart. You can shop by the usual size, category and collection but Igigi has also categorized their wardrobe by shape. They've narrowed it down to seven body types: diamond, triangle, rectangle, oval, hourglass, inverted triangle and figure eight. There is an interactive calculator to help you decide which shape you fall under. The designer price is worth the output for their quality specialty clothing.

Visit Igigi for plus size dresses.
