Daisy Camp is a camp in Minnesota started by Jennifer Morris. Jennifer did not know how to go about getting a divorce when she got a divorce and made mistakes. One day she decided that she did not want others to suffer her fate so she sought out the best professionals that she could find with the common goals of healing, creating, and keeping the children out of the middle.
After watching the two DVD set called, Divorce ABCs- Your Guide To A Successful Divorce, I must say that I believe that she has accomplished her goals. I wish I would have had this DVD set when I was getting my divorce and I hope that by writing about it here that it will encourage others to at least view it. I believe that not only people going through a divorce can benefit from this DVD set and the Camp itself but so can professionals from other states. We need Daisy Camp in every city and it should have required attendance.
This DVD set is very professionally produced as well as full of information that anyone can use in really any state or country. The only difference would be that laws are different in each state as to statutes, and since Daisy Camp is in Minnesota, those are the laws that they cover. Daisy Camp attempts to encourage you to enter into collaborative Divorce or Mediation, which takes you outside the statutes anyway. Therefore it is very relevant to anyone going through a divorce.
Even if you've finished your divorce watching the DVDs will give you so much hope and encouragement about moving on and not just surviving but truly crafting a successful life for yourself and your children. I highly recommend that anyone who can attend this camp do so. If you can't attend due to time, finances or distance, then purchase the DVDs. Give your spouses a copy too while you're at it because I think this camp should be for both parties to the divorce.
The DVD has experts from all fields including three experts who focus primarily on issues regarding children. The focus is to keep children out of the middle of your divorce by setting up a co-parenting agreement that allows children to simply be themselves never having to pick one parent over another, nor being afraid to show their love for both of their parents.
Within the DVD and Daisy Camp you will meet professionals who are Attorneys, Counselors, Coaches, and Financial experts. This is the sort of team everyone needs to use when they are going through a divorce. The emphasis is on patience, help, and courage, focusing on strengths, trust and compassion of the ex, the children and the self.
Jennifer Morris has created a program that is sorely needed in not just Minnesota but in all states and countries. Her program encompasses all the beliefs I hold dear including my often-used line that you must love your children more than you hate your ex.
