Confident Access

Whether you are looking for a job, know someone who is or believe you might be in the near future, this message is for you.

I applied for a part-time job the other day. I want to get my car paid for so that payments were not a concern. I called and immediately got an interview. I was both surprised and glad. It was so easy to get to the right person and have an interview setup within 24 hours of my call. Everyone I have talked with told me to be patient as getting an interview is very difficult, if not impossible.

When I went for the interview, I sat down with the person in charge of hiring. We hit it off immediately. We talked about the job and then she shared a surprising bit of information. I was told that within 1 hour of placing the ad this company had set up 60 interviews. I was the only one that spoke with the right person! Does this mean I will get the job? Probably not. They need someone that speaks Spanish, but I am hopeful. I left with two feelings. One, God is in control. Two, if God was not in control, I would have NO hope of getting any job!

Encouraged and discouraged all at the same time! There is nothing like being put in your place as going on a job interview. You are judged, critiqued and told what you will do if hired, what your pay will be and when you will work. You are definitely not in 'higher management' at the time of an interview! You seldom meet with the 'boss' or owner, so immediately you know your place.

Those seeking to hire are placed in a position of authority and power, no matter how small their business! You are below someone whenever you work for a company of any type. Even the President is accountable to the Board of Directors!

How does one stay encouraged when so many are seeking employment? And, how does one who has jobs to offer guard against pride and treat with fairness all applications submitted? Both sides have their specific struggles.

We stay encouraged and guarded by the same message ~ God is in control! Not only is He in control, we can boldly and confidently go directly to the throne of grace. Stop a moment, let this truth sink deep into our mind and soul. I cannot walk up to the White House and be immediately brought into President Obama's presence, can I? He is just a man who will be judged as each of us before God one day, yet I have no access to him. Do not get me wrong, I understand why access is blocked. The point is that God is God and President Obama is just a man. Logically we should have more access to a man than God, who has the power to defeat death!

No matter what time of the day, what need we have or if we just want to talk about the beautiful flower we just saw, we can go boldly and 'confidently' directly into the presence of God. What an wondrous gift of confident access to God Himslef is! Spend today meditating on this gift of total access to the creator of the world! For believers, this gift is freely given. For non-believers, you can have this unlimited access through His Son Jesus. It is open to all who believe and walk by faith!

Be encouraged because you are precious in God's eyes. He desires to talk with you and fellowship with you!

'To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith in Him.' Ephesians 3:10-12
