Feel Your Way Fit - Maintain an attitude of gratitude Chapter 3 - Part 1

By Moss Greene ©2002

Since being and feeling light is an important element of fitness, we are beginning our quest for alight, fit, healthy body by learning how to love ourselves, our life and our bodies. Love is light. Love is attractive. Love is positive. And, love is appreciative.

But, how can you appreciate your body if you hate it? Or, maybe the question should be, can you appreciate a body that you hate? We don’t think so. Love and hate are polar opposites and cannot exist together in the same space. Although you can change hate into love by focusing on love (and vice versa), love and hate cannot both be in your experience at the same time.

Spiritual leaders have told us throughout recorded time, “As you think, so are you.” In other words, your focus determines your reality. What you pay attention to is attracted to you and tends to manifest in your life. Think of the people you know who focus on their own and other’s ailments, problems and calamities. They complain and commiserate constantly. They’re actually looking for trouble. Is it any wonder that trouble finds them? Have you ever notices that these people are continously bombarded with illness, accidents and other misfortunes? They’re caught in a negative loop, clearly attracting to themselves what they’re paying attention to.

Therefore, why not pay attention to what you want instead of what you don’t want. In our own personal lives, we have found that through appreciation of the qualities and things that we already have and love having, we tend to attract more of the same kind of goodness to ourselves. It seems to be true that “the rich get richer.” Appreciating what you’ve got makes you feel rich. When you feel rich, you attract to yourself more riches – more of the things that you can love and appreciate. It’s a wonderful positive loop.

In order to have a body and physical experience that you can love and appreciate, you need to start by loving and appreciating the aspects of your body that you can already love and appreciate. There’s that loop again. But, how do you begin to love and appreciate what you hate?
