Never-Fail (Vinegar) Pie Crust

This recipe makes about 5 - 9" pie shells.

  • 4-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1-1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 T. vinegar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup water

Preparation -
Combine the the dry ingredients and vegetable oil and mix together with a fork. In a separate bowl, beat the vinegar, egg, and water. With a fork, combine the two mixtures until blended. Chill for about an hour before rolling. Roll the dough between 2 sheets of wax paper. Lift off the top piece of wax paper. Lay the inverted pie pan over the dough, then turn right side up and remove the other piece of wax paper.
