Chapter 1: Beregost
You've already briefly been to Beregost, to get the spider house cleared out. Now you're returning to get through the various sub-quests here. One rumor you hear right off is that there is a Firewine bridge ruin near halflings, full of treasure. Go down first to the Jovial Juggler, near the spider house. You'll meet Gurke, who had his cloak stolen in Cloakwood. Rest up here.
You hear from Bjornin that there are half-ogres to kill to the SSW. You hear rumors of a mage school to the SE, and upstairs Oogie Wisham is afraid of Bjornin the Paladin. At the east side of town is Taerom Fuiruim, a great smithy with all sorts of +1 items. Head to the Read Sheaf Inn in the middle of town and kill off the assassin, Karlat, who waits for you there.
The grey house across from Feldpost's Inn has a gentleman in it who wants the Fateful Coin. That's easy - it's been sold at Feldpost's Inn! Go get it for him, and in return he'll give you 300xp, +1 rep and the History of the Dead Three.
The next map location east is the Temple, where Keldath Ormlyr wants you to kill the madman, Bassilus, and return his holy symbol as proof. Keep that in mind for later. You meet the noble, Asher, in the southwest of the temple area, but he doesn't talk much :)
Head back to Beregost and south. The next map area south is the "3 Pine and Rock" region, with Shellig, a boy out gathering. On the road south you hit 2 Ogrillons, who have killed a halfling and have a note from Roe to Mirianne. Further down you meet a Flaming Fist Mercenary, but you can convince him you mean no harm.
The next map area south of this is the "Rock Land" region. It's pretty quiet here - just a group of hobgoblins and Lord Foreshadow, a nobleman. Head through here, and you've crossed into Amnish territory, with the town of Nashkel. You've also stepped into Chapter 2.
