Baldur's Gate Chapter 2: Gnolls
The Gnoll fortress isn't as bad as you would think. Head across the bridge, and kill the two guards who man it (after nicely offering to go around). You'll get Gauntlets of Dexterity from one of them. Head right, then left, and up the main staircase. You'll fight gnolls at every step. You'll find Dynaheir in one of the pits up on the right. Adjust her memorization, and then have everyone sleep. I hit this point at 8 days, 10 hours.
There isn't much at all to the north, but head south. You'll find a series of small caves at the very southwest region of the map. One has a carrion crawler, and tucked away just to the right of that cave is another, with a chest. This has a +1 Charisma tome, quite a few scrolls, and healing potions.
Return back to Naskel. Dynaheir usually gets killed at some point during the battles, so Edwin is pleased by this, and offers to join you. Tell him to get lost, resurrect Dynaheir, and chat with the commoners. You'll find that Brage is probably under an evil spell, and that a hold often frees people from these spells. Good to know. Time to head east to the Carrnival.
There are strange things at the carnival. A "black lotus" tent has drugged out people, and a gambling tent has a pickpocket. Pay Zeke 500g to free the stone maiden, although you won't be able to let her join you since you're full. This is one of the things about the game that annoys me - you should be able to apologize to someone that your party is full, instead of making it seem like you don't want them at all.
There are armor and weapons sellers here,and a potion vendor as well. There is also a tent with Zordral and a female spellcaster. If you cast 'detect evil', you'll find that Zordral is evil and the woman is good. Ask Zordral what he's up to, then ask him why he's prejudiced, and he'll attack you without killing the woman. Kill him, and you get a wizard cloak, books, etc. The woman will reward you with a potion.
Now head south towards the Mines. Nearby is Prism, who stole the emeralds. While you talk with him, Grey Worlf comes. Kill him for 1400xp. Now let Prism finish his work for 1000xp and +1 rep. He'll die when he finishes his job, leaving you the emeralds. You get 200xp and 300g for giving them back to Oublek.
To the bottom right is the Flaming Fish, who is looking for Samuel, a deserter, and his woman. You track them down in the far bottom right. Samuel is there with Lena. Take them to the KAA for 500xp and +1 reputation.
To the left is the Seawatcher Ruins, with Ardrouine. A boyis in the lighthouse - get him for 500xp, +1 reputation and 60g. You'll also find Arkushule, who, afraid of the past, attacks you.
Bassilus is to the east - Thurm is a zombie. Kill him and go to the temple for 1000xp and 5000g.
