Fable Walkthrough
The Guild : Beginning your Guild Training

You barf in glorious technicolor. The mage says he saved your life. His name is Maze, and he's the head of the Guild of Heroes. He says that there is nowhere safer in all of Albion. He also points out that if you want vengeance you will need their training. He'll now inroduce you to the guildmaster.

You move on to a scene in a large hall with typical Gregorian chanting. "You don't look much like Hero material to me," says the guildmaster. Still, he sends you upstairs to your room. You learn that you'll be sharing it with a girl, Whisper, who is one of the brightest pupils here. You will meet her in the morning. Sheesh, girls and boys sleeping together? What is this world coming to :) You are sad and cry, then see scene of the sun coming up.

OK, It's time to wake up. You see a tall dark skinned girl who has been there for a month. She talks with an African accent, go figure. She says the Guild master is waiting in the Map Room and to follow her. You two walk down the stairs. Hmmmm, he's not there. Whisper says, "He got tired of waiting for you - he's probably at the training grounds."

Now you have control again. If you want to explore the castle, there are many books to be found in the various shelves. The items here are:

Upstairs Rooms:
kryndon tattoo card
a love story (very funny)
three haikus by miko the bard
blood and guts
the tales of maxiey

Downstairs Library:
the pale balverine
the hierarchy of weapons
the other land
creatures of albion book i
creatures of albion book ii
creatures of albion book iii
the old kingdom
the northern wastes
the tale of twinblade
the dragons
the arena

When you're done, walk in a direct line pretty much through the castle to the yellow mark on the map. Note there's a bartender in the dining hall. The Guild Master is there, and says to get in the combat ring. Your first task is to hit the straw dummy. Use L to target, L to circle and X to attack. Do it a few times.

Now he gives you a STICK. Not a pointy stick mind you. That would be too dangerous. Use the white button to equip your STICK. Hit the dummy a few times and it's destroyed. When you destroy an enemy you get an experience orb. Press and hold R to drag it to you - or walk over it.
