Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos Walkthrough
Chapter Two - Departures
Now it's 3 days later, by the Lordaeron coast. You need to prepare a camp to handle the warriors that you're gathering together. Yup, the lesson in camp-building is coming. You want to build a burrow, war mill, barracks, and then train 5 grunts.
First, click the peon and right-click the gold mine. He'll start mining. Now you get 4 peons and you get them all to start mining gold. Now to build more peons. Click on the great hall in the middle, then click the peon icon on the right. Build a few more to mine gold.
OK, now for building. Click one of the peons and choose the build icon on the right, then choose a burrow. Stick it in any grassy area. Grab another to build a war mill by the forest, and then build a few peons to harvest the wood. Idle peons are very easy to spot - their icons show up above your mini-map in the lower left. Just click on them and tell them to do something new.
Build a barracks, and the 5 grunts. Then humans come to yell at you for violating the internment act. They've captured Hellscream. So send all 6 of your fighting units down the path. There's a burning tower - send a peon down to repair it. Now attack the gate down the path.
Through the gate, get one grunt to the right in a box. Follow the path, get another 3 to the left. You're now told that your army is big enough to require 'upkeep' - a payment to keep it going. They also explain how to select a subgroup of like-typed units by using the lower middle icon area. You can just click on your spellcaster for example to have him do something separate from the ground troops.
Another gate. Crash through. A set of 3 towers is easy to kill, and then you find Grom, Thrall's older brother. A happy reunion. You all decide to steal the human boats and sail west to Kalimdor.
Mission Time: Approx 19 min
