World In Conflict Walkthrough Mission 5 - Last Stand The unit choices are kind of weird on this one, so I ended up going with 4 anti-tank squads and 3 light tanks. Move south and hold the points - get infantry in houses or in the woods and get vehicles on the actual points. Most of your enemies will be coming from the big field to the southwest and the road to the southeast, so position your units so they can deal with that while defending the control point. The southwest field is also your main target for artillery, so blanket the entire area with as much heavy artillery as you can. When you get the notice, order some reinforcements with your added points and move about half your forces to the west bridge - move the infantry that are in the most damaged houses, and use the free trucks provided on your reinforcement menu to transport them. Once there, start dumping artillery on the field to the east of that position. Be sure to reinforce both positions periodically if you start losing units - the western point is much harder to hold than the eastern one since there is less cover for your infantry, so that should be your main priority. Keep up the artillery fire on the giant clumps of forces near both bridges. Once you've secured both bridges, move your units toward the last bridge. Put most of your units on the southern point and keep as few as possible on the northern point. Also, you have access to heavy anti-air units on the reinforcement menu; if you get one (you should, if you can afford it), put it on the bridge itself, just behind the southern point. Keep your units on the southern point so they can focus their fire - you'll be dealing with both infantry and armor, so be aware. If you see large groups of enemies with no friendlies nearby, pound them with artillery. The side-mission about the scouts is more an exercise in marksmanship than anything - go to the southeast side of the map and look for the mission icon. Try to predict where it's going (they move in straight lines, then stop abrubtly to turn) and drop a precision artillery on them. You'll have a lot of chances, but if you're good at targeting artillery, you can take them pretty early. If they reach the river, move some vehicles over to take them out before they can retreat. Once the carpet bombing hits, move forward as fast as you can and blitz the enemy. Drop heavy air strikes and daisy-cutter bombs on the positions, then take them and hold them. Move your infantry into the relatively intact houses (don't even bother with the already-damaged ones) and hunker down. Keep an eye on building health for your garissoned units - if their house is getting damaged, move them into another one before it gets destroyed. Move your anti-air unit between the points as necessary to deal with enemy choppers. Hold until you get the order to fall back to the high school; move all your units there as quickly as you can. Call the nuclear strike from the tactical aid menu and drop it on Bannon's tanks.
