Welcome to the October 28th edition of the BellaOnline Anime newsletter!
Here are the headlines to come out of the anime industry since last week's newsletter:
*Astro Boy opens at #6 on the U.S. box office chart, grossing an estimated $7,017,000. With 3,014 theaters, the film had a per-screen average of $2,328. The film cost $65 million to produce.
*Naruto Shippuden will debut on Disney XD on October 28. Four episodes ("Homecoming," "The Akatsuki Makes Its Move," "The Results of Training," and "The Jinchuriki of the Sand") will air between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
*Japanese voice actor Yasuo Iwata passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from lung cancer at the age of 67. His roles include voices for Saze-san, Darker Than Black, and The Vision of Escaflowne.
