July 19 2012 Australia NewsletterG’day there, it’s that time of the week when the Australia Newsletter pops into your inbox. It’s been a beaut week here in Australia. Winter is with us, but if you can stay warm all is good. I guess everyone around the globe is getting ready for the Olympics which are being held in London, United Kingdom in a week’s time. There’s been a few hiccups in the run up to the game by games organisers, and I must admit that I have sympathy for the people who are in the firing line. I think the concept of the Olympics is a good one, but the spectacle has become so huge and out of control. I’m not sure any country could afford to stage such an event these days. And of course security is a big issue at these events, and how can you be sure you’ve got it right? Back to the Australia site…. I wrote an article last week titled “Queensland Flags and Emblems”. This is part of the series on getting know more about the states and territories of Australia. Here’s the link to that article. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art15345.asp The forum has been pretty quiet of late – don’t forget this forum is for the readers of this site to have their say.
