January 19 2008 Autism Spectrum Disorders Newsletter

Greetings Everyone -

It has taken me awhile to get a new article up for this New Year of 2008. Personally I have been in a funk for awhile and did not feel like writing about autism. In March Nicholas will be 13 and in June it will be ten years since his diagnosis of autism. It has also been an adjustment for both of us with him homeschooling this year. We are ending this semester at the end of the month and he will get a report card and then I can write a pros and cons of the homeschooling experience.

We have not had any therapy services since September and that has been a strain on us, plus the new OT and Adaptive PE at school and adjustments with that. I have yet to receive progress reports and there is no speech therapist assigned to Matt's school. I have to figure out where he will go for Middle School and see about his aide or maybe another one going to that school.

It just so happened that today's article took place today, so it was easy to type it out with the outcome being helping other families from reading of our experience and hopefully I can get some feedback on how to deal with future rages.

Here's the latest article from the Autism Spectrum Disorders site at BellaOnline.com.
