Hate holidays, but not sure why? There's an article featured on the Bereavement page that might help you.

The annversary of the loss of a loved one can be more devastating than the death itself. There are things that trigger it, that you may not be consciously aware of. For instance, if you lost someone near Christmas, the holiday can make you sad. But why are you sad in October? Because the media and marketing folks are already advertising it.
