Does your gifted child have the winter blues? Seasonal affective disorder is a very real problem for many who live in the northern latitudes. If you observe a pattern of school work going downhill, interest in social activity decreasing, and appetite changes each winter, then you might want to investigate treatment for SAD. Natural light or special lightbulbs in the daylight spectrum are useful in combating symptoms, but professional help should be sought for any conditions that appear serious.

best wishes-
