Summer is rapidly dwindling to a close. My eight year old and eleven year old will be appearing in a community theater production next week, so it's a very hectic and exciting time for us! It's been a positive learning experience for me as well as the kids- now I know how to wrap an authentic style turban!

My son "Hector" has returned from a week at Boy Scout Camp, and I cannot say enough good things about the BSA program. Anecdotally, I have observed that the majority of the boys who stay in scouting as teens are bright or gifted. It seems that these are the kids who stick with it and are not afraid of being seen as "uncool". Of course there are a lot of physical and intellectual demands related to badge acquisition and rank advancement too, and that is surely a draw for the smarter boys. Everyone likes an appropriate challenge!

Have a wonder filled week!
