Going Green – it’s all the rage. But is the concept of being “environmentally-friendly” just a lot of hype, or do you think the majority of people truly believe and practice the idea?
I’ve been reading a lot lately about carbon off-setting – from airlines taking it on themselves to resorts that tow the green line. Trends come and go and I’m wondering if this is just the latest in travel fashion. The latest article from the Island Travel site at BellaOnline.com introduces the topic of carbon off-setting and outlines the pros and cons of the process.
Carbon off-setting is all the buzz, but what does it mean for island travel?
IslandTravel.bellaonline.com has lots of other great content about Island Travel – from pet-friendly island travel to book reviews (castles in the British Isles anyone?) to family-friendly fun (Island Adventure) to planning and remembering the journey (with a journal, of course!).
If you’d like to participate in free, fun online discussion, this site also has a community forum all about Island Travel located here -
There’s a forum thread on the site linked to carbon off-setting where you can voice your opinion. Or join in and let me know about a good book to review, ideas on where I should fly with a family set of free tickets, or start a new thread on any island topic that strikes your fancy!
I hope to hear from you sometime soon, either in the forum or in response to this email message. As always, if you have ideas about article features you’d like to see on this site, a favourite island fair or festival to share, or anything else related to island travel, just let me know!
And finally, if you know of someone who loves islands and travel, please feel free to pass on this message.
