March 14 2008 Jewelry Making Newsletter

In this issue:

  • New Articles: Basic Peyote Stitch Toggle Clasp
  • Legal Update: California's Lead Jewelry Law
  • Announcements

Over these past couple of weeks I wrote up some overviews of California's lead jewelry laws - including the Lead-Containing Jewelry Law, which limits which jewelry can be legally sold in California, and Prop 65, which requires that some sellers warn customers about the lead content of their products. There has been a lot of confusion about these laws in the jewelry-making community lately, and I hope the articles help to clarify things. If they don't, please do post in the forum with your questions.

I also published the follow-up to my peyote stitch bracelet project, which involves weaving and attaching a peyote stitch toggle clasp. Please post your questions or suggestions for that one here.

Until next time,

~ Chris
