April 23 2008 Jewelry Making Newsletter

In this issue:

  • New Articles: Knotting Between Beads; Cord Used for Knotting
  • New Book Review: Silver Wire Fusing

Well, I got a little behind with the newsletters this month, as I'm working to meet some project deadlines - but I have published three new articles since the last issue.

The first is a review of Liz Jones' book Silver Wire Fusing, which will walk you through the basic process of joining fine silver using a torch, with no solder or pickle required. Next, I spent some time knotting between beads using different varieties of beading cord. The result is an overview of the standard knotting technique along with some comparisons of cords, including example photos for each.

As always, if you have hints, tips or questions about knotting or silver fusing, be sure to post them in the forum!

Until next time,

~ Chris
