I rarely use Museums newsletter to make announcements other than new articles on my site. But this is a great FREE webinar that I thought some of you might be interested in. I am the Region 5 Representative for the National Digital Newspaper Program in Ohio. We were asked to help spread the word!
Please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like a PDF of a poster/flyer you can hang in your museum.
Free Webinar – Learn How to Use Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers for History Day Research!
The Ohio Historical Society, in conjunction with the National Digital Newspaper Program, will be presenting a free webinar demonstrating how to use the Library of Congress’s Chronicling America. Chronicling America is a freely-available, keyword-searchable, digital newspaper database containing almost 4 million newspaper pages from all over the nation – including Ohio – published between 1836 to 1922. Please join the National Digital Newspaper Program in Ohio staff to learn all about this great resource and how it can be incorporated into History Day research and other lesson plans.
The webinar will be held on September 13, 2011 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
One contact hour will be provided to all educators who attend the webinar.
To register or for questions, please contact Jenni Salamon at email@example.com or 614-297-2579.
