January 6 2009 Quilting Newsletter

Happy New Year everyone, all the hoopla is over for another 11 months or so. I celebrated the New Year yesterday (a little late I know), with four of my quilty/embroidery friends here at my home. We had “high tea” or to be more accurate, “not so high tea” as we weren’t perfect ladies the whole time, I must confess. We had a lovely srcummy eat up with ribbon sandwiches, pate, mini quiches, chocolate yummies and the token fruit (to make us feel like we’re doing the right thing!). No alcohol, they were all driving! We didn’t need it, we got silly without it!

The best part of the day was debriefing each other on our Christmas experience just past, and the ups and downs of family life. A little bit of hysterical laughter ensued and we all had a good dose of endorphins for the day. I love my friends and the laughter that is sparked off by the silliest of things. Love ‘em.

I’ve been busy posting articles throughout the Christmas holidays and last Sunday I posted my final article reviewing the Quilting Arts TV video Series 1. Do pop over to the article as I also give a link to the website for you to investigate further. I am a subscriber to the Quilting Arts Magazine also, and I get a lot of information from this publication about all manner of things, quilting.
Here’s the link to my article.http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art4994.asp

Check out the forum too. There’s been a lot of chatter over the break, and it’s interesting to see if Bellaonline Quilters got their wish lists fulfilled.

I must apologize to you. I’m not able to send you a newsletter next week. My eldest sister Anthea is undergoing surgery for impacted wisdom teeth and is going to need a nurse for a week or so while she recovers. That’s me! I’m no nurse, but I can make people laugh! And I’m guessing she’ll be needing a bit of that. Anthea lives in Hobart, Tasmania (yes a long long way away from me). So that’s where I’ll be. So to make up I’ll give you a couple of gifts this week.

Here’s a cute zipper purse for you to make in a trice!!

And for all those Craftaholics amongst us, this might be of use for you. Enjoy!

Welcome to the Bellaonline Quilting website for another year of fun and things to learn and do, I love having you all on board. I do hope this first newsletter for 2009 finds you all well and keeping those fingers busy.

Cheerio for now,
