October 16 2007 Quilting Newsletter

Hi quilters, it’s Wednesday and time again for the Quilters Quarters Newsletter.
With only less than 10 weeks till Christmas, I can hear those needles busy creating delightful quilting gifts for friends and loved ones. I tend to give most of my creations away and I’m often heard to say “one day I’ll make one for myself”. Does that sound like you?

Here's the link to my latest article from the Quilting site at BellaOnline.com.
Essential Tools for Quilting - what are the essentials tools to be able to create the quilt you dream of?
http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art4970.asp . Please visit Quilting.bellaonline.com for even more great articles and content about Quilting.

On the Forum, I’ve asked you what quilting tools you consider to be essential in your toolbox. I’d love to hear what you think.

To participate in free, fun online discussions, this site has a community forum all about Quilting located here -

I came across this poem recently when I was tidying up my quilting correspondence. I’d like to share it with you and unfortunately, I’m unable to attribute it to the author, as it is signed “Author Unknown”.

Quilters

Quilters are a different breed
The things we hope for, the things we need
We wish for fabric to finish that row
We sometimes wish our guests would go

We wish all day for that time to be
That special time – that time for ME
Each needle is threaded, the colours arrayed
Scissors and pattern have been carefully laid

Now we relax, this is our pleasure
Stitching this piece of soon-to-be-treasure
We always ignore that mental warning –
Stitching all night makes it rough in the morning!

But times’ unimportant, we don’t heed clocks
We just need fabric and a sewing box
Our project awaits us, now we proceed,
This must be heaven – what more do we need?

I hope to hear from you sometime soon, either in the forum or through an email message on the Quilting Home page. I thrive on your feedback! Oh, and have fun passing this message along to family and friends, because we all love free knowledge!
