December 17 2008 Quilting Newsletter

Hi everyone, I’ve been so busy getting ready for Christmas that I forgot to post my newsletter to you yesterday!! I’m terribly sorry for not getting here on time; life is very hectic here at present.

Our daughter and her husband are arriving for Christmas next Tuesday and we can’t wait to have them back home, even momentarily. They live out west in a coal mining town. Both are teachers and really love their life in the bush. I must admit, even though they are very busy with class preparation and participation in various sporting clubs, they don’t seem to be as stressed as their city colleagues. I guess the fact that the town they live in doesn’t have traffic lights might have something to do with it. No such thing as traffic jams there.

Well, this is the second last newsletter for 2008. The time sure flies. Next week I’m posting the Quilt Block of Utah. I have six states left to create blocks for, and I hope to be able to do that as soon as possible. I’m keen to get onto the State Capital Quilt Blocks. You should see them; they’re fantastic and will be offering a challenge to some. I’ll endeavor to make the instructions user friendly, but do give me feedback if you are having trouble, I’ll do my best to make sure you all can enjoy those patterns.

I’ve had a great lot of feedback to the Christmas Carol I posted the week before last. Quite a number of organizations and groups have let me know that they are using this carol in their end of year party celebrations. Thanks for letting me know, I do appreciate it.

The article I posted last week is a Quilters Christmas Wish list. After you’ve read the article here: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art798.asp go to the forum which is busy, busy, busy, with the latest forum subject on the Quilters Christmas Wish List. Here’s the link: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=43 Pop over and add your suggestion for a wish list. It’s growing fast!!

My gift to you this week BellaOnline quilters is an article about how to make Candy Wrapper purses. Have fun!

Well my dear quilters, it’s off to work I go. I do hope this newsletter finds you all well and on top of all things Christmassy! Take care and I’ll pop in again next week – Christmas Eve!!

Cheerio for now
