April 6 2011 Quilting Newsletter

Hi everyone, it’s a busy week for me this week, but I have some quiet ones coming up, so that’s something to look forward to. I manage to get the washing and ironing up to date after our return from our holiday in Tasmania.
Just in time too, because I’m off to visit my daughter tomorrow. Just for a few days. I do miss her terribly and wish we lived closer. I must say though, Skype has changed things for us and we Skype regularly and so I don’t feel so far away at times. My daughter has begun studying again, and so I’m going to cook up a storm and freeze some meals for her and her darling. Mothers love being useful, so I’ll be in my element!

I’ll also relish the opportunity to take their chocolate Labrador Cadbury for lots of walks. He’s a gorgeous puppy and I’m completely smitten. We didn’t have pets for our children when they were younger due to allergy issues, but my daughter has taken to having a dog like a “fish to water” and is a wonderful dog owner. She has trained Cadbury to be very sociable and obedient and is rewarded with a beautifully natured loving dog. I think everyone should have a pet if they can. Studies have shown that having a pet in your life can reduce stress related illnesses enormously.

Last Sunday I posted an article about a quilt I made recently for a friend of my daughters who had given birth to her second son. I really loved making this very easy quilt and thought you might like to see it. I’ve also added instructions for completing the Prairie Points. Here’s the link to that article: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art2266.asp

Well, I’ve been busy looking for some good pressies for you this week. I hope you enjoy them.
