This article is about PETA's (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) new campaign to protect fish by renaming the 'Sea Kittens'. The article includes a short discussion of how a fish brain differs from a mammal brain, and information about how we can protect our oceans and lakes. There is also a link to a wonderful service offered by the Blue Ocean Institute, called Fish Phone, that allows you to text the name of an edible fish species to them and get back an immediate response on how safe it is the eat that fish and the impact that fishing of that species has on the environment. A great thing to know when you are out at a restaurant and trying to remember which fish are okay to eat!
