Sea Kittens - a dumb idea from PeTA
PeTA tries to protect fish by renaming them as "Sea Kittens" - what a waste!
This article is about the newest campaign by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for protect fish, by renaming them as 'Sea Kittens". The articles has a short discussion on the difference between a fish brain and a cat brain, and information on real, practical things you can do to protect our oceans and the fish. It also has a link to a wonderful service by the Blue Ocean Institute called Fish Phone. The service allows you to text the institute with the name of an edible fish species, and get an immediate response telling you whether it is safe to eat the fish and what the impact is to the environment. It's a great service for those times you are at a restaurant and trying desperately to remember which fish are okay to eat!
