Welcome to the October 13th edition of the BellaOnline Anime newsletter!

Here are the headlines to come out of the anime industry since the last newsletter:

  • Bandai Entertainment announced at its New York Anime Festival/New York Comic Con panel that the company will release Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: Awakening of the Trailblazer, as well as the first Mobile Suit Gundam television anime series on DVD. The releases will contain both English subtitles and dubbing. The 42-episode television series will be released in two parts in 2011. The company also announced that Mobile Suit Gundam UC will finally be released on DVD, after only originally releasing it on Blu-Ray. The company will also be releasing The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society on Blu-Ray.
  • Crunchyroll announced at its New York Anime Festival/New York Comic Con panel that the company has licensed Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Lucky Star, Cosplay Complex, Demonbane, and The Magician's Academy (Macademi Wasshoi!). Crunchyroll will also bring back the first Mobile Suit Gundam anime series (with the English dub), Mobile Suit Z Gundam, and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 back onto the site.
  • The Hawaii International Film Festival in Honolulu will feature screenings of the anime films Redline and Welcome to the SPACE SHOW. In addition, two anime-related live-action films will be screened: BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. The festival is being held October 14 to October 24.
