June 16 2010 Anime Newsletter

Welcome to the June 16th edition of the BellaOnline Anime newsletter!

First, I need to make a correction to a news item I included in last week's newsletter. Since sending out last week's newsletter, I received an e-mail from a friend of anime voice actor Robert O. Smith. It turns out that Robert O. Smith's date of death was actually May 30, 2010, and not June 1, 2010 as it was previously reported in last week's newsletter. The biography I posted last week for Robert O. Smith has also been updated to correct this information.

And here are the headlines to come out of the anime industry since the last newsletter:

*The Monster anime series will be going on hiatus on Syfy's AniMonday block after airing episodes 67 and 68; however, the series will return to the block on August 30. From July 12 through August 23, Monster's time slot will be filled with the 13-episode anime series, Requiem From the Darkness.

*When Naruto Shippuden: The Lost Tower screens in Japanese theaters this summer, it will be shown with a comedy anime short, Naruto, the Genie, and the Three Wishes, Believe It! In the short, Naruto and his friends end up in a slapstick struggle over a bottle that contains a genie that can grant wishes.

There are topics in the anime forum for these news stories. If you'd like to join in on the discussion, there's a link to the forum later in the newsletter. You need to have a BellaOnline forum account in order to post, but signing up for a forum account is free.

This week, I posted three new articles to the Anime site. The first is an overview article for the anime series, Gallery Fake. The second is an overview article for the anime series, The Mars Daybreak. The third is a review of Naruto Uncut Box Set 11. I also added words from Gallery Fake and The Mars Daybreak to the list for the Anime word games on the site.

Thank you for your support of the BellaOnline Anime site, newsletter, and forum. Be sure to watch your inbox next Wednesday for the June 23rd edition of the BellaOnline Anime newsletter.
