Welcome to the July 23rd edition of the BellaOnline Anime Newsletter!
This week, I have posted the second article in a set of three about the history of anime. This second article is titled, "Anime History: Mighty Atom to Akira," and it covers the 1960's through 1989. This is a "Featured Article" on the front page of the Anime website, and a link to it can also be found later in this newsletter.
I have also posted an overview article for the popular anime series, Death Note, to the "Current Anime" section of the website. I also added some Death Note-related words to the list for the Anime word games. A link to the Death Note overview article can be found later in this newsletter.
After I sent the last newsletter, Anime News Network announced that Mike Kleinhenz, a voice actor for ADV, passed away on July 11. I have posted a biography of Mike Kleinhenz, and it is a "Featured Article" on the front page of the Anime website. The biography can also be found in the "Special Features" section of the website. A link to the biography can also be found later in this newsletter.
This week, I added a review of the soundtrack for the first Inuyasha movie, Affections Touching Across Time. The review can be found in the "Inuyasha" section of the website, and a link to the review can also be found later in this newsletter.
If you've been by the website since the last newsletter, then you may have noticed that the "Anime Conventions" section has been renamed to "Anime Conventions and Clubs." This was done so I could add a listing of anime clubs that meet across the United States and across the globe. Links to the various club listings are available later in the newsletter.
And this week, I have also featured The Place Promised in Our Early Days in the "Editor's Recommendations" on the main Anime website.
If you haven't come by the Anime forums since the last newsletter, here are some anime news headlines that you may have missed:
*ADV voice actor Mike Kleinhenz passes away
*Live-action Cowboy Bebop film in development
*Moribito to debut on Adult Swim in August
