Welcome to the September 9th BellaOnline Anime newsletter!
Here's some of the anime news headlines of the past week:
*Anime News Network is reporting that Do As Infinity will be performing the opening theme for Inuyasha: The Final Act (the new Inuyasha series) being released in Japan this fall. Previously, Do As Infinity had performed two of the ending theme songs for the original Inuyasha series.
*The CW4Kids Saturday block for fall 2009 has been announced. The anime series in the block will be: Dinosaur King at 8:30 a.m., Yu-Gi-Oh! at 9 a.m. (the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh! is replacing Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's), and Sonic X at 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The new schedule goes into effect on September 15.
*Ponyo falls to #16 at the U.S. box office over the September 4-6 weekend, grossing $1,288,000. Ticket sales fell 31.8% from last weekend. Ponyo is still the fifth highest grossing theatrical anime film in the United States.
