"The Gates" by Christo and Jeanne-Claude was a recent exhibit in Central Park New York. It has been called, "The first great public art creation of the 21st century." I spoke with a friend who visited NY and saw the installation. She spoke favorably and said she saw no hidden message in these pumpkin colored arches. She saw them as a welcoming oasis in the otherwise drab colors of winter. She noticed alot of happy people enjoying a day in the park. Whether you were there personally during the 16 day event, or like myself, saw photos taken from land or air, one can only imagine the spectacle that brought so many smiles to the Big Apple.
