Hi everybody

Here's the latest article from the Astronomy site at BellaOnline.com.

Milky Way - Facts for Kids
We live in the Milky Way galaxy. When we look up at the sky all the stars we see are part of the Milky Way. But did you know that most of the Galaxy is made of mysterious, invisible dark matter and that there’s an even darker secret at its heart?

*The Milky Way on Space School*

The Discovery Channel has a nice set of short videos called “Space School.” Here is one on the Milky Way: http://science.discovery.com/video-topics/space-videos/space-school-milky-way.htm I recommend it to kids and their parents and teachers.

*The spring sky*

Time to get out and look at the spring sky. This will tell you about some of the highlights: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art2160.asp I’ve pinned a lovely picture from Astronomy Picture of the Day which shows some of the things that are mentioned in the article: http://pinterest.com/pin/250090585530052874/ This picture was actually taken during the summer, but it showed some of the features so clearly, I thought I would share it.
