January 18 2008 Atheist / Agnostic Newsletter

Hi Everyone! I'm introducing some regular features to the A/A Newsletter this week. Please don't hestitate to let me know what you think of them or suggest other news you'd like to hear.

-- Currently at BellaOnline –-
Animal lovers might like to visit Ingrid Stamatson’s Reality TV site where she reviews a couple of interesting shows on the National Geographic Channel.

-- On the Wire –-
Those of you with streaming capability will find a lot to watch at Richard Dawkins’ website: http://richarddawkins.net. Click on the Archives tab and choose Video. In particular you might want to watch the two “Four Horseman” video segments. Each about an hour long, they feature a free-wheeling conversation between four prominent atheists:

Richard Dawkins, author of "The God Delusion"
Daniel C. Dennett, author of "Breaking the Spell"
Sam Harris, author of "Letter to a Christian Nation"
Christopher Hitchens, author of "God is Not Great"

Highlights for me include the reactions of the other three participants to Hitchens’ political opinions and their strained expressions as he lights up a cigarette without asking if anyone minds.

Another cornucopia of watchable videos can be found at Google Video, http://video.google.com. Speeches from the 2007 AAI Conference have been posted, including a very entertaining talk by screenwriter and film-maker Matthew Chapman.

-- In the Forum –-
Still waiting for comments on my suggestions for the Forum. I guess it’ll take a while for people to come back after a period of inactivity. Maybe I need to be more provocative. I’ll give it a couple more weeks.

-- This Week’s Article -– Einstein and Religion
One of the world’s greatest scientists, Einstein had much to say about God and religion in general.
