Quinn at School Book Review
Planning for College with ADD
Greetings from the Land of OZ!
This week's articles go from pre-school to college. Last Sunday, I wrote a book review on a great little book to help young children learn social skills. Children with Attention Deficit Disorder and other kids with neurological differences may have many social challenges. These children, ages 3-7, can benefit from Quinn at School: Relating, Connecting, and Responding at School. This book, by Rick H. Warren, teaches social skills to young children.
Tonight, I am posting the first in a series of articles about planning for college when a student has ADD. It is written in language that directly addresses the student. This is just a framework for planning. There are many more details for planning the college experience. One book that I recently was sent by AAPC publishing was The Parent's Guide to College for Students on the Autism Spectrum. It is a great resource. While it is aimed at students on the spectrum, much of the book also applies to our students with ADD/ADHD. I hope that you find this article to be helpful. A link is below.
I hope that your week is going well!
