When I was at school I learnt an old hymn that said, “Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin, Each victory will help you some other to win, Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue, Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through” These amazing words still ring in my mind. The hymn is both a warning to stay off sin and also an encouragement to know that we are not alone in our war against sin.
‘Sin’ began in the Garden of Eden and continues to be the only barrier that separates God and man. Even after being saved by grace and through faith in Jesus, a battle with sin remains a daily affair. The good news is, we are not alone in our battle with sin. The Holy Spirit enables us to resist temptation and live a ‘holy’ and ‘acceptable life. In this week’s update I have suggested some helpful ideas to overcome sin and live a life of purity. If you have successfully ousted sin in your life, I’d like to invite you to share your experience with us either in the forum or in reply to this mail so we can learn from each other. How to Overcome Sin
