You know, there are many, many biologists who have contributed hugely to science and yet are little known to those outside their field of study, or perhaps even their country.
One of these, in my opinion, is the remarkable Dr. Carmen C. Velasquez. She accomplished so much, and yet so little has been written about her life and her work. Here's hoping that this article will help introduce more people to this very accomplished biologist.

Carmen C. Velasquez - Noted Fish Parasitologist
One of my favorite modern biologists is Carmen C. Velasquez, who pioneered in the field of fish parasitology. Unfortunately, she is a scientist little known by others outside her fields of study or her country of origin. Hopefully this article will help spread the word about a wonderful biologist!
