August 24 2011 Biology Newsletter

Hello!

Summer vacation here in the U.S. is drawing to a close, and many students have already started classes! I hope that you'll all still find a little time to check out the articles on the BellaOnline Biology site. Need an idea for a report or project? Biology at BellaOnline is a great place to look!

You may have read about a new "living fossil" species of eel discovered this past week. I originally intended to write about that discovery, but then decided to provide a little background on living fossils. And so I did!

Here's the latest article from the Biology site at BellaOnline.com.

Living Fossils - What Are Living Fossils?
The term "living fossil" was first used by Charles Darwin in his book "On the Origin of Species." But what exactly is a "living fossil"?

I hope to hear from you sometime soon, either in the forum or in response to this email message. I thrive on your feedback!

Have fun passing this message along to family and friends, because we all love free knowledge!
