Welcome to the early June edition of the Bellaonline Body Art Newsletter.
There weren't any newsletters in May due to my traveling around. I have to say, pulling in to just get gas when no one in town has seen a woman with her upper arms full of tattoos can be an experience. I've been very lucky, I almost never get negative attention from having ink, but I do raise a few eyebrows when I hit a town of less than 1,000 in rural Nevada.... hahahaha...
This month's Body Art book club title is THE TATTOOED MAP. This is an artful mystery with the book having rich prodution values along the lines of the Griffin & Sabine stories. Lydia tells of a skin irritation that turns into a growing tattoo, her partner Christopher finding the diary entries after her disappearance. Did she follow the map on her skin, and if so, where did she go?
Rae's Tattoo Answers
Rae, Bellaonline's Body Art Editor, takes a few moments to answer some of the tattoo questions she gets asked about herself. Hear a bit of her tattoo history, and where the ink is headed next.
Angel Tattoo Designs
Angels are a popular design in tattooing in Western culture. These heavenly winged beings are chosen as symbolic of innocence, mercy, religious awakening, protection and blessing.
TATTOO BOOK OF DAYS
This collectible edition is a worthy edition to the tattoo historians library. Take a closer look at the TATTOO BOOK OF DAYS from Lyle Tuttle.
- The Tattoos of Johnny Depp - apparently our web audience just can't get enough of Johnny and his ink
- The Tattoos of the Fellowship of the Ring - if you're gonna check out Johnny, you might as well check out Orlando....
- Airports and Body Piercings - my recent travels had me swapping this story in exchange for hearing a few other people's bodily adventures with authorized strangers in strange airports at off-hours....
We've also got an online forum all about Body Art that you can visit. It's a great place for discussing the latest developments in body art and getting an answer to any questions you might have. I enjoy your feedback and welcome your questions, so if you have something to tell me, please send an e-mail or drop by the message boards! Feel free to pass this message along to family and friends who you think might be interested.
