I'm excited to announce that I have compiled my first BellaOnline ebook:
Intro to Buddhism and Buddhist Meditation Ebook
Whether your interest in Buddhism is personal or academic, this ebook is the perfect way to explore it. It includes the most popular BellaOnline Buddhism articles, as well as 'Personal Exploration' exercises you can use to explore practices, including different meditation forms, yourself.
Also, I am often asked to list specific Buddhist meditation centers or teachers on the site. Because BellaOnline draws an international audience, and I cannot personally vouch for centers all around the world, so far I have opted not to do so, as much as I would like to provide resources such as this.
What I have done instead (and included in the Ebook) is researched the most comprehensive websites for locating Buddhist organizations and teachers around the world, from all the main Buddhist branches. I will be adding this to the website, and encourage you to get your own organization and/or teacher listed in the appropriate site if they are not there already. Or if you have suggestions for other directory sites I should include on this list (that are national or international in scope), please let me know. Here's the list:
World Buddhist Directory, by Buddhanet - http://www.buddhanet.info/wbd/
Directory of centers and temples from all Buddhist branches around the world
Tibetan Lama Directory - http://tibetanlama.com
Dalai Lama sanctioned site, listing Tibetan Lamas, teachers, and centers from all the major Tibetan Buddhist branches
Zen Guide - http://www.zenguide.com/organizations
Searchable directory of Zen websites and organizations (mostly in the U.S.)
Sadhu Theravada Buddhism Web Directory - http://dhamma.ru/sadhu/
Searchable directory of Theravada organizations around the world
And don't forget to chime in on the Buddhism forum:
