April 24 2009 Buddhism Newsletter

Hi all,

I would like to compile a list of family dharma resources for the Parents and Kids sections of the BellaOnline Buddhism site, which are two of the most-trafficked subject areas. If you know of a Buddhist center that offers family activities, or of websites or books you would recommend, please send them to me. Thanks!

This week's article is on Zen Haiku. Haiku is one of the most revered forms of Japanese poetry, and the most famous haiku poets were Zen trained. This article provides examples of Zen haiku covering the Buddhist themes of impermanence, stillness, and sudden awakening.
